Event Highlights: AFV Day Odyssey was celebrated on the Evansdale campus of West Virginia University on with an on campus event aimed at educating students about the programs and research WVU conducts relating to alternative fuels. Students from the U.S. Department of Energy EcoCar3 Competition Team exhibited information on automotive technologies they are using in a national three-year competition. The goal is to redesign a Chevy Camaro to reduce its environmental impact, while maintaining the performance expected from this iconic American car. Three alternative fuel cars belonging to the NAFTC were on display, including a Toyota Prius, Chevy Volt, and Nissan Leaf. A few students enjoyed a ride around campus with NAFTC Director Bill Davis. Additional exhibits were by the Wood Sciences and Technology Biofuels Research Program and the Energy, Environment, Economics, Entrepreneurship Education Program, and the NAFTC.
