Nicholas County Career and Technical Center, Craigsville

Event Summary: Students and staff from the Nicholas County Career and Technical Center traveled more than 130 miles to participate in the National Research Center for Coal and Energy Odyssey event at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, WV. Students learned about alternative fuel vehicles, met students who are working on the WVU ECOCar team, and saw a variety of alternative fuel cars provided by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium. In addition, as a classroom activity, the students were given Odyssey handouts and discussed what they had learned at the WVU event and the future and importance of alternative fuel vehicles.

NCCTC Odyssey event will include the automotive technology and project lead the way classes traveling to Morgantown and attending the WVU and National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium’s kickoff event. This event will feature vehicles, speakers, and displays that showcase the advancements in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles initiatives in West Virginia and at West Virginia University.
