Event Hightlights:

Monongalia County Technical Education Center Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, and Energy, and Power and Engineered Systems classes participated in AFV Day Odyssey. Classes rotated through three different areas including Automotive Technology which showcased two new alternative fuels vehicles (Ford Fusion and C-Max) that were driven to our site by local dealer Freedom Ford Lincoln; Cassie Tudek, Energy, Power and Engineered Systems Instructor, divided the students into teams and charged them with not only building the windmill but its operation as well; and an interactive group alternative fuels presentation by George Law, Electrical Technician instructor. Additionally, individual teachers throughout the building provided relevant instruction related to their technical areas.

Event Highlights: Monongalia County Technical Education Center (MTEC) students from nine program areas viewed the Odyssey video. A question-and-answer session followed about alternative fuels and alternative fuel vehicles. Students also had the opportunity to see MTEC’s SMARTT Challenge electric vehicle, which was on display. Upon returning their completed Odyssey surveys, students received Odyssey water bottles.
