Host Site Coordinators: Clean Cities Coachella Valley Region and Clean Energy Fuels
Event Type: Job Fair
Sponsors/Partners: Clean Cities Coachella Valley Region and Clean Energy Fuels
Attendees: 60 Industry Professionals, General Public
Event Highlights: Clean Energy Fuels held job fairs in both Newport Beach and Los Angeles. While attending the job fairs and meeting with Clean Energy Fuels, industry professionals and participants received information on the Coachella Valley Region Clean Cities program and Odyssey 2008. They also had the opportunity to apply for job openings with Clean Energy Fuels. Since Clean Energy Fuels deals exclusively in alternative fuels, through the events of this outreach, participants became more in tuned with the Clean Cities movement and our mission of being less dependent on foreign oil, plus how the private sector can help support this mission. Clean Energy Fuels in partnership with SunLine Transit Agency has built 5 CNG fueling stations in the Coachella Valley that are open to the public, demonstrating an answer to the “chicken and egg” problem of dealing with alternative fuel infrastructure.
