Clean Cities Atlanta and Simon Properties held their event at Lenox Square in the Buckhead district of Atlanta, in conjunction with the dedication of new electric vehicle charging stations at the upscale shopping mall. The electric vehicle charging stations were provided by ECOtality as part of the US Department of Energy EV Project. In addition to the charging stations, all types of alternative fuel vehicles were on display.

Event Highlights: Clean Cities-Atlanta hosted its AFV Day Odyssey on the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology and generated great interest from attendees as well as local media. The event consisted of an outdoor static display of two Georgia Tech Student Projects, EcoCAR and the Solar Jackets, and included various other alternative fuel vehicles and vehicle conversions available in the Atlanta area. The vehicles were located on the major walkway leading to the Student Center, and yard signs throughout the campus helped direct and encourage people to attend. The event included a raffle that gave away several Student Center gift cards, a gift card to a local restaurant, a tailgate kit, and an iPod Nano.

Event Highlights: The Clean Cities- Atlanta AFV Day Odyssey Event was held on Thursday, October 12, at the Manheim DRIVE Center in Stockbridge, GA. Attendees had the chance to learn about new alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles and conversions offered by manufacturers, find out more about renewable and alternative fuel availability in the state, and participate in a facilitated discussion to help Clean Cities-Atlanta understand what is needed to successfully incorporate renewable fuels, alternative fuels, and technology improvements into fleet operations. Participants also had the opportunity to tour Manheim DRIVE, a state-of-the-art facility for development, research, and innovation for automotive services.
