Silicon Valley Clean Cities Coalition held three Odyssey 2014 events in Cupertino, Gilroy, and Saratoga, CA. In Cupertino, Breathe California and Silicon Valley Clean Cities created a hospitality and education center with a retrofitted 40 foot electric school bus on display and held three informational sessions on the bus.
The Gilroy event was held in conjunction with Gavilan College’s annual student health fair. The health fair was bustling with hundreds of students, many who stopped by the Odyssey booth to ask questions about the different types of alternative fuel vehicles or showing interest in owning an AFV later in life. They unanimously agreed that AFVs are the future of consumer transportation.
The Saratoga event was held in conjunction with Breathe California’s annual Breath of Life Walk. Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coordinator, Curtis Martin, displayed CNG vehicle and spoke to the walkers about his Green Across America event- driving from Canada to Mexico border in a CNG vehicle. Founder & manager of the Electronic Transportation Development Center, Bob Garzee, displayed his THINK electric vehicle and also spoke about Silicon Valley Clean Cities retrofitted electric school bus project and the importance of providing clean transportation for our children.
