NAFTC Responsibilities for National AFV Day Odyssey
and Site Support:

  • Identify overarching purpose of the event with its sponsors, partners, and contributors
  • Provide overall national-level coordination and development of the event
  • Define goals and objectives for the event
  • Develop theme, look-and-feel, program identity, and key messages
  • Provide national program support to individual sites
  • Provide each new Participating Site with a Site Coordinators Notebook ('08 participants will only receive updated materials for the '10 event) filled with information, checklists, aids, and templates for guidance with:

    • Recruiting and working with local planning committees
    • Planning and developing activities, agendas, budgets, etc.
    • Developing mailing lists and media contact
    • Identifying and recruiting participants, program personnel, etc.
    • Developing local media and promotional activities
    • Conducting evaluation and follow-up
    • Providing other helpful aids and materials such as graphics, etc.

  • Provide basic promotional national Odyssey materials and make arrangements for additional materials to be available at cost on a limited basis (Examples: giveaways, brochures, fact sheets, etc.) for each Participating Site
  • Recruit national sponsors and partners to provide support and/or materials for each local site event
  • Provide national promotion for the National AFV Day Odyssey
  • Provide national media campaign
  • Provide national Web site and highlight each participating site
  • Compile and distribute Odyssey Executive Summary to key industry leaders, Congress, national sponsors and partners, and site coordinators
  • Provide each participating site individual feedback and appropriate national recognition
