Detroit, Michigan’s Wayne State University and Clean Energy Coalition hosted an Odyssey event which highlighted the university’s EcoCAR 2 Team, electric vehicle technologies, and alternative fuel technologies that operate on compressed natural gas and propane. Students and alternative fuel vehicle experts were on hand to educate students, faculty, and visitors on technology features and benefits. Sponsors included Wayne State University, ROUSH CleanTech, SPX Service Solutions, Clean Energy Coalition, ICOM North America, Venchurs Vehicle Systems, and Westport Light Duty.
“We were pleased to partner with Wayne State University and its EcoCAR 2 team to spread the message about alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles in the automotive capital of the world – Detroit,” said Bonnie Schmick, communications manager for Clean Energy Coalition. “We had a terrific turnout, with participation from about 200 students and faculty. Attendees got a first-hand look at the future of transportation, thanks to several exhibits, including our own Chevy Volt, an EV charging station from SPX Service Solutions, and propane and CNG vehicles from ROUSH CleanTech, ICOM North America, Venchurs Vehicle Systems, and Westport Light Duty.”
